About us:Dandy Premix Concrete Pty Ltd has over 30 years of experience in the production and supply of quality premixed concrete to customers in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne.Dandy Premix is excited to share we are building a bigger team to meet demands for our expanding business. We are looking for an experienced Truck Mechanic to join us in our Cranbourne Workshop who is keen to contribute to the continued growth of the business. About the role:Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for ongoing repairs and maintenance of the Dandy fleet. The role will consist of scheduled and priority repairs along with preventative maintenance schedules and annual roadworthy inspections. Duties include:Continues improvement for Safe Work practices.Participating in all toolbox meetings.Work within workshop rules and regulations at all times.Liasing with direct managers, supervisors and managers daily.Thoroughly diagnose and repair faults.Service and maintain equipment of truck fleet.Work to tight schedules whilst maintaining the highest standards.Adopt and continue with lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance.Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules.Coordinating with suppliers sourcing parts on quality and best price.Maintaining company tools and equipment.Ownership of major repairs, working efficiently whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment.Challenge yourself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement.Maintaining professional and clear communication with all company staff. About you:Fully Qualified MechanicSound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes and suspension.Basic auto electrical knowledge.Competent with computers and digital diagnostics.Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.A professional, confident and self-assured person with the ability to demonstrate flexibility and apply learnings to improve workshop processes.A team player who is action focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on repairs and priority breakdowns.Ability to problem solve and engage their peers to achieve best possible outcomes.Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals.Ability to work flexible hours.Current drivers’ license desirable.RMS Vehicle inspection ticket.
