Role Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Senior Management Accountant to join our team in a full-time, permanent role starting immediately.
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will collaborate closely with the corporate accountant to support essential accounting and finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of internal controls and processes around plant costing and reporting.
- Analysing financial and operational metrics to improve performance and maximise returns.
- Implementation and consistent application of group depreciation and asset review policies.
- Develop business case for new capital expenditure and strategies.
- Accounting control over cut-off deadlines and integrity review of data in group reporting tool (PowerBI).
- Responsibility for general ledgers of all Civil Plant Hire entities.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ownership of processing timeliness/accuracy of AP/AR transactions.
- Review & analysis of monthly project, P&L, balance sheet and cashflow movements against budget and forecasts.
- Preparation and presentation of financial information to senior management as part of monthly management meetings.
- Assist FBP with audit queries during annual audits and half-yearly reviews.
- Assistance with income tax queries from FBP and other relevant stakeholders to help facilitate group bi-annual tax effect accounting schedules (and annual income tax return).
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Minimum 2 years in a similar role and industry.
- CA/CPA membership or working towards.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to explain variances.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and other MS Office skills.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders across a business.
- Ability to apply strategic and flexible thought processes to achieve positive outcomes.
- Experience in month-end reporting and budgeting.
- Listens, understands and adapts to an audience and is able to communicate clearly and persuasively.
- Builds individual and organisational capability using dynamic and innovative leadership.
- Guides and leads with purpose and planning and acts strategically and with sound judgement.
- Demonstrates high levels of self-awareness, and is capable of self-management, is socially aware and able to manage a diverse range of relationships with an ability to inspire teams and motivate individuals.
