The Health and Safety Advisor will guide our employees and stakeholders to safely undertake their work and assist the ongoing successful deliver of project work by promoting and improving the health and safety culture and manage Health and Safety systems and processes that minimise injury and illness.Responsibilities: The Health and Safety Advisor - Projects will lead the implementation of Health and Safety strategies to ensure projects are delivered in line with legislative and client requirements.Coordinate the Health and Safety framework, including the administration of KPIs, targets and processes for Health and Safety and environmental performance to be monitored on site and to the client’s approval and requirements.Maintain Health and Safety reporting systems and, actively engage with staff to facilitate a reporting culture to monitor incidents and injuries and identify risks.Collaborate with staff to improve hazard inspections and internal audit processes on Health and Safety hazards and risks.Liaise with stakeholders in the development and review of relevant safety strategies to manage areas of non-compliance.Conduct Risk Assessments, develop and review SWMS, undertake hazard reporting and proactive safety measures.Coordinate the chemical safety within the workplace and design the management system to reduce the associated risksAssist with Workcover Claims Management and Return to Work Coordination when required for specific operations.Conduct employee inductions and trainingAssist with the Management of the internal audit process for major projects and the preparation and submission to the client as required under the contract.Knowledge and experience required: Relevant qualifications (at a minimum CERT IV or Diploma in Work Heath & Safety)Strong understanding of Work Health and Safety LegislationStrong knowledge of acts, regulations codes of practice and standardsOperating knowledge of Heavy Plant & EquipmentExperience in Health and Safety – preferably on project workIntermediate to advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and systems e.g. SharePointWell-organised and detailed oriented professional with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be self-directed.
