JLE Group is seeking an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead our service division within the Manufacturing & Hire business. Based in Newcastle, this role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence across Tech Services, Generator Service, Onsite Delivery, Hire, and Sales operations.
About the role
This is a strategic leadership position responsible for optimising day-to-day service delivery, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution while driving team performance and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operations of Tech Services, Generator Service, Onsite Delivery, Hire, and Sales teams.
- Plan, schedule, and allocate resources (labour, equipment, subcontractors) to ensure works are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Drive utilisation, productivity, and efficiency improvements across service crews.
- Manage full P&L performance for the service division, including cost control and financial accountability.
- Lead a strong safety culture aligned with company and industry WHS, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Lead supervisors, technicians, and service personnel through training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Implement and improve service systems, workflows, scheduling, tracking, and reporting processes.
- Leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

What you'll bring
Essential:
- Experience in management or supervisory roles.
- Strong financial acumen (budgets, cost control, quoting).
- Electrical trade qualification.
- Knowledge of WHS and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management.
Desirable:
- Advanced management skills in planning, organising, and evaluation.
- Management or business qualifications.
- Relevant licences and certifications.
- Understanding of relevant Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Contract training (GC21/AS4000).
- OH&S training.
- 7â12 years' trade experience.
