Overview of the role:
The Apprentice and Training Coordinator sources, coordinates and implements training plans to ensure required competency based training and approved employee development training is delivered efficiently and effectively and complies with Company process and industry standards.
As the Apprentice & Training Coordinator, you will provide a linkage between industry standards and external training providers in supporting Managers, employees, trainees and apprentices in industry competency-based requirements and identify employee development opportunities.
We are looking for a competent person with a- can do attitude, has strong work ethic and willing to go the extra mile. You must have the ability to show initiative and have the follow through with the Company’s training objectives.
- You will carry out specific related functions under legislation and regulations respecting the designated trades and corresponding apprenticeship program.
- Give advice and support to Managers and Supervisors, apprentices and trainees to increase training participation and completion conversions.
- You will manage and track completion rates, apprentice level and wage increases, along with any associated claims including wage incentives and the associated completion payment process for trainees and apprentices.
- The Apprentice and Training Coordinator will coordinate with company business unit managers and Human Resources to ensure employees are trained and have the required competency to perform duties to Company and industry standards.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Preferred qualification in Education, Training, or related field.
- Proven work experience as a Training or Apprentice Coordinator, Training facilitator or similar role.
- Hands-on experience coordinating multiple events.
- Experience in implementing change.
- Adequate knowledge of learning management systems / data bases.
- Advanced organization skills with ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven work experience with e-learning platforms.
- Ability to complete full training cycle.
