About the Role
Working in both the workshop and quarry sites, you’ll learn how to service, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy mobile plant and quarrying machinery, including:
- Crushers and screeners
- Loaders and excavators
- Haul trucks and skid steers
- Conveyors and fixed plant equipment
This structured 4-year apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with study towards a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
What You’ll Learn
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in quarry machines
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems maintenance
- Preventative servicing and inspections to minimise downtime
- Welding, fabrication, and field breakdown repairs
- Safe work practices in a quarry environment
- Keeping accurate job documentation and servicing records

What We’re Looking For
- Completed Year 10 or higher
- Driver’s licence
- Interest in heavy machinery, quarrying, or construction industries
- Willingness to work in tough environments (dust, noise, heavy lifting)
- Reliability, resilience, and pride in doing the job right
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated.
- Whilst the role is Dubbo-based, you will be required to travel to sites across Central West NSW and take part in rostered weekend work.
